City Museum

Washington, D.C.--Sadly not anymore. The Beaux-Arts building built by Andrew Carnegie in 1902 closed its doors as the City Museum in 2004, to become a building of multiple uses.It houses the Kiplinger Research Library, The Historical Society of Washington and the National Music Center. I had to cover an event at Mount Vernon Square and after spending the whole morning in a room without windows it was a joy to come out to the sun and look around at the wonderful architecture of this little jewel in the city.
