Los Angeles Union Station

Los Angeles, CA--I always wanted to see L.A.'s Union Station. However, I suppose that even more than seeing it, I wanted to experience the movie set atmosphere of it. I have seen the station in so many movies that I could almost recognize the Art Deco-style seats in the lobby... I think I knew exactly how they were going to feel at touch. The architecture is Art Deco as well as the seats, signs and tiles.

Unlike Union Station in Washington, DC, the L.A. version is NOT trendy... no expensive shops or nice restaurants. It is not a downtown destination place for residents, and there are only a few apartment buildings nearby. It is obvious, though, that the city is trying to turn around Union Station in Los Angeles.
