7th Street Corridor NW

Washington, DC--In downtown DC, the 7th Street Corridor NW, located in Chinatown is one of the busiest areas in the city. Plenty of places to eat, lots of retail stores, the National Portrait Gallery, Verizon Center, cinemas and art galleries all of them very close to metro stations and to the Mall.
"The Seventh Street District, the downtown area surrounding the Washington Convention Center and the Verizon sports complex, is also known as the Washington DC Chinatown and shopping district. Here you will find everything from fine Washington DC restaurants serving Chinese and diverse ethnic cuisines, to great museums and theaters and movie houses. Close by is the recently developed Verizon Center, where DC's basketball and hockey teams, the Wizards and the Capitals, host their home games. Here, also, concert fans convene for major tours, spilling over into several breweries, restaurants and sports bars that have developed in the area. The Washington DC art gallery has found a home in the Seventh Street District too, as its nightlife burgeons."

Es curioso no ver las calles iluminadas con motivos de la Navidad

@Johnny & Vogon, you guys are so right. I didn't even notice when I posted the photo. I went back to the other images of that night on 7th Street and found no Christmas.

Luis Gomez Photos

I am a freelance photographer and photojournalist who moved to Washington, D.C., in 2003 from Caracas, Venezuela. During my 15 years as a photographer, I have traveled the world collecting images for work and pleasure. I have taken photographs throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia, focusing on cityscapes and architecture as well as the simplicity of landscapes and people.

I studied architecture at the University of Tennessee and then returned to Venezuela to earn a B.A. degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
I was a photographer and photo editor for publishing companies while doing freelance work for local and international media outlets.

I was born to a Venezuelan mother and a Belize-American father, some of my earliest memories are of hurrying through airport terminals with a camera around my neck. I was raised in Brazil and Venezuela, and I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
