About This Blog
Luis Gomez PhotosI am a freelance photographer and photojournalist who moved to Washington, D.C., in 2003 from Caracas, Venezuela. During my 15 years as a photographer, I have traveled the world collecting images for work and pleasure. I have taken photographs throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia, focusing on cityscapes and architecture as well as the simplicity of landscapes and people.
I studied architecture at the University of Tennessee and then returned to Venezuela to earn a B.A. degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
I was a photographer and photo editor for publishing companies while doing freelance work for local and international media outlets.
I was born to a Venezuelan mother and a Belize-American father, some of my earliest memories are of hurrying through airport terminals with a camera around my neck. I was raised in Brazil and Venezuela, and I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

For some reason I used to like to play with these things when I was a little boy. I liked to pull the levers.
"I can see your images for Thursday, in the reader but once I go into your page to make a comment it is unable to find them."
That's strange Luis because my Newtown post is sceduled for 11am tomorrow. I wonder why it shows in your dashboard?
Okay now I understand. That post was supposed to be for tonight but I put the wrong date on it and it posted for a couple minutes last night until I caught the mistake. It should post on Something Sighted in about 15 or 20 minutes. :)
Oh man, I remember these. I used to get cigarettes for my parents. Somehow I managed never to be able to fully pull the lever (hey, they're difficult when you're like only 8) and I would blow my parents' 79¢. LMFAO
This is a beauty for an almost vintage device. I see your packets don't have the huge scary ads so common here.
I like the angle of the photo. Good that these little colorful boxes inside the device stopped interesting me 6 years ago.
Oh my goodness do these machines still exist in the days of anti smoking.
oh, it looks cool!
can't relate with this vending machine really, since we don;t have one here. ^0^
but i know it's a good foto, you seem to have fond memories of this one. ^0^
esperemos que sea verdad por saluz pero la maquinita tiene un gran encanto es como un dinosaurio, me gusta angulacion la destaca mucho,y la hace todavia mas bella, un abrazo
Different this machine!
Luis me gusta mucho el angulo que le has dado a la foto, le da un toque especial.
Un saludo!
Probably as unique as health itself.
A nice start into the weekend for you.
Vintage indeed! I can also remember when it only took a dime plus a quarter to make a pack of smokes fall into the tray. Wonder if this one works only with coins, or perhaps it has been modified to accept credit cards?
Very cool, I haven't seen one of these in a long time!
