La Frontera

Washington, DC--After an entire day indoors watching TV, playing with Google Buzz and watching the snow fall outside my window... Matty, Lupe and I ventured for a little walk with Lupe being the only one who fully enjoyed the outing. The wind was blowing and there was snow flying all over, and I snapped pictures of streets and cars covered with snow and more snow. I went for this shot since I am a bit tired of so much snow and of photos with only snow.

The bright neon in this photo is a welcome relief from the damnable white snow that is hanging over this city like a medieval plague.

The snow almost looks like smoke billowing from the red & yellow fire!

Neat shot, I really like that frozen neon!

A great 'flaming' shot, a pleasant revenge against the snow.

haha, the snow makes such a good riddle. ^0^ makes me think you're starting to hate it,i hope not. ^0^
this signage is starting to lose its charm, i hope it gets back to its original once this is over.

So interesting. Red, black, yellow. Could be frightening decoration for some thriller

Irina is right. I was also thinking about the cover of a crime novel. Well snapped.

See, there's colour to be found beneath the white of snow, it might take a while though. Beautiful photo indeed.

I am a freelance photographer and photojournalist who moved to Washington, D.C., in 2003 from Caracas, Venezuela. During my 15 years as a photographer, I have traveled the world collecting images for work and pleasure. I have taken photographs throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia, focusing on cityscapes and architecture as well as the simplicity of landscapes and people.

I studied architecture at the University of Tennessee and then returned to Venezuela to earn a B.A. degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
I was a photographer and photo editor for publishing companies while doing freelance work for local and international media outlets.

I was born to a Venezuelan mother and a Belize-American father, some of my earliest memories are of hurrying through airport terminals with a camera around my neck. I was raised in Brazil and Venezuela, and I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
