About This Blog
Luis Gomez PhotosI am a freelance photographer and photojournalist who moved to Washington, D.C., in 2003 from Caracas, Venezuela. During my 15 years as a photographer, I have traveled the world collecting images for work and pleasure. I have taken photographs throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia, focusing on cityscapes and architecture as well as the simplicity of landscapes and people.
I studied architecture at the University of Tennessee and then returned to Venezuela to earn a B.A. degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
I was a photographer and photo editor for publishing companies while doing freelance work for local and international media outlets.
I was born to a Venezuelan mother and a Belize-American father, some of my earliest memories are of hurrying through airport terminals with a camera around my neck. I was raised in Brazil and Venezuela, and I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

una belleza, aislar y analizar lleva a la fotografia pura, un abrazo
Is that the water on your windshield? Love the street colors. Spend your weekend drinking hot chocolate and reading your favorite books?
Creativity and technique saved the day. An excellent image, bravo!
Muy buena esa, si señor me ha costado saber lo que era.
Saludos,
Serge
Sorry to hear this. I know that feeling. Been a long winter. Stay warm.
Que tengas un buen fin de semana casero. Aquí, al otro lado del Atlantico estamos practicamente igual (excepto por la nieve en la costa que hace 20 años que no cae).
A punto de colgar una foto similar a la tuya.
Saludos
Beautiful photo Luis. Stay warm and safe.
Me gusta! gran composicion.
Gran captura Luis, la incertidumbre de reconocer lo que es la hace muy atractiva, enhorabuena, un saludo josé luis.
But still you manage to take fascinating photo!
If one looks long enough, there are even faces appearing. Brilliant surreal photography. Chapeau !
It's weather like this that separates the hobbyists like me from professionals like you. Excellent photo! I love the texture and the blurred colors.
Love it, Luis!
