Washington, DC--This is one view of the Washington Monument that you don't get in the postcards. I love the train and how out of place the monument looks.
I agree with Bibi - unusual view of a usual place - I like that the monument is almost an afterthought in the background and my eye is directed everywhere else - to the train and the man on the front of the car, to the lone figure on the right, and all up and down all those great strong vertical and horizontal lines! Great shot.

Great composition. And amazing textures.
bellisimo trabajo, me encantan tus perspectivas, un abrazo
Good one. I like it when photographers shoot usual places in an unusual way.

You captured the old bridge and the
old train in front of the modern
buildings..
Great!
the fellow outside the train, the railroad tracks, the obelisk on the background and construction on going.
very industrial feel, really beautiful. ^0^
Very nice perspective. The colors are beautiful. I love how the elements play off each other.
Oh wow, for a second it looked like a miniature. I dig all the intersecting lines from the rails and posts.
I love it, so much better than the typical tourist shots!
this would make a great alternative postcard... I like it
A very strange angle with the monument like something alien in an ordinary cityscape... A beautiful composition for a really great image!
A picture filled with the very essence of America. Somehow it looks for me, as if all is in its right place.
Please have a good Friday.

Fabulous! I like the composition; the train and it's colors are great. The "out of place" monument makes it even better.
