Muses

Washington, DC--They could be inspiring if it weren't for the fact that once you get close to them they look really cheap. I sort of knew that as I was getting close to them but for years now, I have been trying to get an image out of these ladies on 16th Street NW. I think this time they caught me. One of them sort of smiled at me in the right way and there I was snapping a smile while her friends were just giggling among them with fake modesty. But I had a good time.

They don't look cheap here; this is a lovely photo of 'ladies all in a row.'

I like the way you have only the second lady in focus. It gives the photo a lovely soft classic look!

This is a difficult subject to capture in just the right way! Bravo, Luis! You drew a lot of life - and feminine mystique! - out of an inanimate object! The muses have literally smiled upon you!

Nice light, Luis. The soft focus fore and aft helps with the expense-account -:)
