About This Blog
Luis Gomez PhotosI am a freelance photographer and photojournalist who moved to Washington, D.C., in 2003 from Caracas, Venezuela. During my 15 years as a photographer, I have traveled the world collecting images for work and pleasure. I have taken photographs throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia, focusing on cityscapes and architecture as well as the simplicity of landscapes and people.
I studied architecture at the University of Tennessee and then returned to Venezuela to earn a B.A. degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.
I was a photographer and photo editor for publishing companies while doing freelance work for local and international media outlets.
I was born to a Venezuelan mother and a Belize-American father, some of my earliest memories are of hurrying through airport terminals with a camera around my neck. I was raised in Brazil and Venezuela, and I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.

It's a scene that makes one pause as one's heart lurches.
How very sad. Hope the biker and driver are OK.
Oh, my....too frequent of a scene in big cities, I'm afraid.
I see way too often bicyclists and motorcyclists hit by cars. Tragic.
I hope the bicyclist is fine and recovers.
Good shot Luis!
That's not good odds Luis. The bike looks a mess, hope the rider survived that!

I hate those kinds of stories. I sure hope the person is okay.
looks scary indeed, as the bike seems to have suffered a strong hit. hope the person will get up on the feet again.
tsk, tsk, what a sad timing.
we had lots of vehicular accidents here also, unfortunately, drivers can be so negligent at times.
