Chess in Dupont Circle

Washington, DC--I love walking by Dupont Circle, there is always something going on and if not I just sit there to enjoy the fountain and wait until it happens. I really like seeing the group of chess players at the Circle.

That is a good plan. Find a good location and let life happen around you.

Is it a common sight, to see people playing chess out in the open?

There's a neat little area, not actually a park, around MLK Blvd in Mobile. During the first few warm days of spring, I see older gentlement around a concrete picnic table and it appears they're playing chess. I've always wanted to stop to get their picture, but it's outside of my comfort zone. Great capture, Luis.
